Get Your Ducts in a Row

5/25/2018 (Permalink)

Removing a vent cover allows you to look at your air duct system.

Cleaning a duct system can be very labor intensive so we recommend calling a professional, but luckily there are things you can do to see if it is time to call us here at SERVPRO of Old Bridge/Cranbury.  Removing vent covers will allow you to see the inside of your duct system to check for dirt and dust.  You should also check your air filter for debris.  If either of these tests proves that your AC system needs a thorough cleaning, give us a call. While doing these simple tests, you can also check in on your heater. A dirty heat exchanger surface means your system is not optimized.

With summer approaching, you should also take a look at your air conditioner. AC coils need to be clean to run at peak efficiency. Take a flashlight and point the light onto the coils. You should be able to see the light projected onto the other side if it is clean. The fins of the coil should be evenly spaced and free of any nicks or scrapes. If you do see these pieces are dirtied the AC will be less efficient. No need to sweat it though, we are ready to help get your AC running perfectly!

This is a quick guide to all the steps, and work, that goes into cleaning your ducts:

The first thing we will do is check your AC filters. Dirty filters mean that you are breathing dirty air. Cleaning, or replacing, the filter can make the air you breathe cleaner and make sure your system is allowing the air to flow without restriction.

Once the filter is resolved, we can start work on the condenser coils. A clean condenser coil will help to ensure you AC are maximizing all the power it consumes, which will lower your electricity bill. The professionals here at SERVPRO of Old Bridge/Cranbury will also make sure you coolant lines are giving you the coolest air possible.

Cleaned and checked, the only step left is to turn it on! Once running, your SERVPRO of Old Bridge/Cranbury professional can check one last time for any problems. If there is a need to fix anything else, needless to say, we will be ready to fix it!

Document restoration with SERVPRO of Old Bridge/Cranbury

Aside from people, some of the hardest things to replace after a natural disaster are documents. After a flood or fire photographs and books could be lost forever. As a leader in the restoration industry, SERVPRO of Old Bridge/Cranbury   knows that timely mitigation is the key to recovering damaged possessions. Our experience and state-of-the-art technology can help save your important documents from the trash.

We employ the latest technology available, utilizing the same freeze-drying methods used by the Library of Congress to dry valuable historic documents and books; this method can clean and dry your documents without sacrificing their integrity or damaging them. As powerful as our document restoration technology is, it is delicate enough to handle old and fragile documents, books, and papers. With water damage like sewage or floodwater, documents will be exposed to bacteria, viruses, pesticides, or other harmful chemicals. Our team uses a gamma irradiation process to safely and effectively sterilize your documents.

Our facility is managed by HIPPA Master-certified technicians, under 24/7 surveillance so you know that your personal information is kept secure and confidential.

To prevent your documents from becoming damaged again, we also offer digitalization for your documents and photos. We use a computerized inventory system for digitizing your documents. In the digital age converting your paper files and photos to digital formats can have an invaluable impact on your business or home. You can have access to your records while saving space.
